  • Paul Merrill Spurlin (1902–1994) wrote on the reception of the French Enlightenment in America.[1]
  • Harold M. Spurlin was a cellulose chemist at the Hercules Powder Company and co-editor of Cellulose and Cellulose Derivatives (1954–55).[2][3]
  • R. P. Spurlin is the author of a 1942 study, catalogued with the University of Michigan School of Public Health, of dental health in urban and rural children.[4] A dentist of that name, Dr. R. P. Spurlin Jr. of Berryville, Arkansas, was appointed in 1940 to direct the Arkansas State Board of Health's new dental-hygiene sub-division;[5] the sources seen do not say whether he wrote the study.
