Logan Spurlin
Logan Spurlin (born 1994) is an American former baseball first baseman and catcher from the Chicago area who played four seasons at Northern Kentucky University and independent professional baseball in 2016.

Logan Spurlin (born July 14, 1994) is an American former baseball player.[1]
High school
Northern Kentucky University's roster lists Spurlin's hometown as Evanston, Illinois. He graduated from Loyola Academy in Wilmette in 2012. According to his NKU biography, he hit .442 with seven home runs and 34 runs batted in as a junior and .374 as a senior, and he received Pioneer Press All-Area honors in both years.[2]
College
Spurlin played four seasons at Northern Kentucky University, from 2013 to 2016.[1] NKU moved up to NCAA Division I and joined the Atlantic Sun Conference after the 2012 season, and it joined the Horizon League in 2016, so Spurlin played in the program's first Division I season and its first Horizon League season.[3]
As a freshman in 2013 he hit .271 with a team-high four home runs, moved from catcher to first base during the year and hit his first college grand slam against Ball State on April 3. He was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team.[2][1] In 2014 he started all 47 games he played and led the team with a .350 average, with 16 doubles and 32 runs batted in.[2][1] His average fell to .218 in 2015, although he drew 19 walks and had a .351 on-base percentage.[2] As a senior in 2016 he hit .311 with 10 home runs and 40 runs batted in, playing mostly at catcher.[1]
He also played summer ball in 2014 for the College Park Freedom of the Florida Collegiate Summer League and the Battle Creek Bombers of the Northwoods League.[1]
Independent professional baseball
In 2016 he played 14 games for the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore Professional Baseball League, which began play that May. He also played one game for the Rockland Boulders of the Canadian-American Association, going 2-for-2.[1] Both are independent leagues.[4][5]
Baseball-Reference lists him at 6 ft 4 in and 220 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed.[1]
